Who We Are

Know who we are

The Simpson & Group Companies Co-operative Credit Society Ltd. (formerly known as The Simpson & Group Companies Employees’ Co-operative Society Ltd.) is one of India’s long-standing and trusted co-operative credit organizations.

Founded on 22nd December 1951 and operational since 26th January 1952, the society was established by three eminent visionaries —

  • Thiru R. Venkataraman (Former President of India)
  • Thiru S. Anantharamakrishnan (Founder of the Amalgamations Group)
  • Thiru K. Gurumurthi (Trade Union Leader)

The society began as a multi-purpose co-operative, focusing on both consumer and credit services, helping members access essential goods at fair prices and financial support.

Through decades of service, the society has shown resilience — overcoming challenges during government administration (1971–1979) and regaining success under the leadership of Shri. C. Govindarajulu from 1982 onward.

Today, our head office at Perambur High Road, Chennai, houses administrative offices, a hospital, and a training institute within a 13,800 sq.ft. campus.

Our Objectives

  • To develop as one of the best co-operative societies in India.
  • To educate, guide, and assist members, including retired employees, in employment and welfare.
  • To promote co-operative principles and serve as a model institution.
  • To provide healthcare and employment-oriented training to our members.
